The Homecare & Hospice PAC-designated a non connected committee under the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971—was organized in February of 2007 by a core group of homecare and hospice industry leaders who are determined to make a difference in the political process in Washington, DC. These individuals have formed an Executive Committee (EC) and take an active roll in the contributing their own money and in the solicitation of personal contributions from friends and colleagues. The EC is also empowered with the ability to make key decisions as to what candidates for federal office will receive contributions to their campaigns. An advisory committee was formed to render advice to the EC regarding the policies of the PAC. Any individual that gives their financial support of the PAC is considered a member.
While the homecare and hospice community has always maintained a high esteem from the public and from the government officials for the high quality and cost effectiveness of their services we recognize a need to encourage people to be actively involved in the political process and support members of Congress that advocate for the ill, the aged, and the disabled. We believe that home health care and hospice skilled-nursing services are the future of the American health care system and should be considered a core component of the health care continuum.
